Building a custom home is a big investment. It’s also a very personal one.
You’re trusting a builder with your money, your plans, a lot of decisions, and a home you’ve probably spent years thinking about.
That’s a lot of trust to hand over to people you may have only known for a few months.
We don’t take that lightly.
That’s a big part of why we created Blake-Tull Custom Homes.
Our Story
Jon and Brianne Tull created Blake-Tull Custom Homes after years of working hands-on in custom home construction from very different sides of the process.
Jon has spent years in the field—building homes, managing projects from the ground up, working with trade partners, solving problems, and seeing firsthand what it takes to build a custom home well.
Brianne’s experience has included client selections and coordination, project systems, job-cost visibility, and the construction-management technology that keeps a complicated build organized and clients informed.
Working together gave us a pretty clear picture of what we wanted Blake-Tull to be.
It also gave us a pretty clear picture of what we didn’t want it to be.
We wanted to keep the things that should never change: good craftsmanship, strong relationships, attention to detail, and pride in the finished home.
But we also saw opportunities to make the building process better.
Better planning before construction. More visibility into the budget. Clearer schedules. Easier selections and approvals. Better access to information. Fewer situations where a homeowner is left wondering what’s happening with their house.
None of that is particularly glamorous. It is, however, pretty important when you’re the one building the house.
So we built those things into the way Blake-Tull operates.
Because we don’t think homeowners should have to choose between a beautifully built home and a well-managed building experience.
They should get both.
Different Strengths. Same Standard
We don't approach every part of a project exactly the same way—and that's a good thing.
One of us may be thinking three steps ahead in the field while the other is making sure those three steps are documented, communicated, and accounted for.
We challenge each other. We catch things for each other. And the house is better for it.
More Than a Beautiful Home.
Beautiful architecture and high-end finishes matter. Of course they do. They’re what makes the end reveal pictures so fun and exciting!
But, some of the things that make a home truly exceptional aren't nearly as exciting to reveal.
It's the planning that happened before construction. The things that were caught before they became problems. The care behind the walls. The trade partner who took the extra time to get something right.
It's also understanding your budget, knowing where your money is going, having honest conversations when something changes, and being able to see what's happening with your home even when you can't be there.
Though you may never show anyone a picture of those things, you’ll know the difference when you live there. To us, that's all part of building a great home.
What Guides Us
We intentionally limit the number of homes we build.
Not because we're interested in being small forever, but because growth should never come at the expense of the homes—or the people—already trusting us.
More houses isn't the goal if we can't build them the way we believe they should be built.
We believe in doing things the right way, even when the right way takes longer, costs us a little more, or would simply be easier to ignore.
We believe difficult conversations are better had early.
We believe details matter.
We believe clients deserve to know what's happening with their home and their money.
At the end of a project, of course we want you to love your house.
But we also want you to be glad you chose us to build it.
That's the goal.
